AFLS (Adaptive Front Light System)
On a batch of Alfa Romeo Giulia vehicles Adaptive Front Light System (AFLS), the
automatic headlight position sensors may not have been calibrated and, therefore, the
function does not comply with the requirements of ECE R48. As a result, the headlights
may not be adjusted correctly when the load or the load distribution on the vehicle
changes.
Therefore, action must be taken during pre-delivery inspections on vehicles still in stock
operating according to the operating cycle to upgrade all vehicles.
Customers will be contacted by registered mail letter (attached)

modules, it is necessary to connect a battery charger to guarantee the nominal voltage
of 12.5V 10Ah for the entire duration for the update in order to ensure the correct level of
electrical power during the operation.
At the end of the learning procedure, reset any errors (DTC) that may have been
generated, as shown on the All DTCs tab.
• Using the diagnosis equipment, access vehicle view, select the AFLS (Adaptive Front
Light System) module and open the Miscellaneous Functions tab.
• Then select "AFLS learning” on the tab"
Read all the instructions and warnings displayed during flashing.DO NOT continue
with subsequent steps without first completing the actions requested at each step
At the end of the process, save the Report suggested by the system for later
investigations.
If the flashing process is interrupted or fails, it must be restarted.
• At the end of the flashing procedure, reset any errors (DTC) that may have been
generated in other modules as a result of the flashing. These will be shown on the All
DTCs tab.
• Disconnect the diagnosis equipment.
• Remove the battery charger from the vehicle.
• Hand the vehicle back to the customer
